Youth Volleyball

CVPRD Youth Volleyball League offers age-appropriate divisions for athletes in 1st through 8th grade, providing a supportive and engaging environment for players to learn, grow, and enjoy the game of volleyball.

Each division is designed to promote skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Coaches focus on teaching core fundamentals and creating a positive experience for every participant.

CVPRD offers two volleyball seasons each year:

  • Spring Season: March–May
  • Fall Season: August–October

2026 Spring Volleyball

(1st-8th Grade)

District Registration Open: Monday, November 24, 2025
Non-District Registration Open: Monday, December 8, 2025
Registration Deadline: Monday, February 2, 2026

1st-2nd Grade (Coed) Volleyball 

A beginner-friendly volleyball program focused on building fundamental skills and introducing game play. Players will learn passing, setting, serving, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment.

  • Format: One 90-minute practice per week with games played on Saturdays against teams from Carbon Valley, and Mead.  Some travel is required.
  • Practice Starts: Week of March 2
  • Game Dates: Saturdays, March 14 – May 2
  • No Games/Practice: March 21 (SVVSD Spring Break)
  • Fee: $105 District / $158 Non-District
3rd–6th Grade (Coed) Volleyball 

A fun and instructional volleyball program designed to teach the fundamentals of the game including serving, passing, setting, and teamwork. Players will build confidence and skills through practices and games in a recreational setting.

  • Format: One 90-minute practice per week with games played on Saturdays against teams from Carbon Valley, Mead, and Berthoud. Some travel is required.
  • Divisions Offered:
    • 3rd–4th Grade Coed
    • 5th–6th Grade Coed
  • Practice Starts: Week of March 2
  • Game Dates: Saturdays, March 14 – May 2
  • No Games/Practice: March 21 (SVVSD Spring Break)
  • Fee: $105 District / $158 Non-District
7th-8th Grade (Coed) Volleyball 

A volleyball program designed for middle school athletes to continue developing their skills and understanding of the game. Players refine core techniques such as passing, setting, and serving, while also learning more advanced strategies and positioning through structured practices and game play.

  • Format: One 90-minute practice per week with games played on Saturdays against teams from Carbon Valley, Mead, and Berthoud. Some travel is required.
  • Practice Starts: Week of March 2
  • Game Dates: Saturdays, March 14 – May 2
  • No Games/Practice: March 21 (SVVSD Spring Break)
  • Fee: $105 District / $158 Non-District
What You Need To Know 

General League Information

  • Team Formation:
    Teams are formed based on coach or friend requests, practice day preferences, and school affiliation. Requests are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed. 
  • Practice Details:
    Practice times, days, and locations are determined by the coach and facility availability.
  • Coach Meetings:
    Coaches’ meetings are typically held 1–2 weeks before the first scheduled practice.
  • Uniforms:
    All CVPRD leagues include jerseys as part of the registration.
  • Equipment Requirements:
    Participants are responsible for providing sport-specific equipment as outlined in the parent letter for each program.
  • Game Officiating:
    In general, leagues for children ages 8 and younger are self-officiated by coaches and parent volunteers. Leagues for ages 9 and older are officiated by trained game officials.
  • Travel:
    Some travel may be required for older age division leagues. 
  • Schedules:
    Game schedules are posted online at www.cvprdathletics.com.

To provide exceptional community-based Athletic programs for all ages by providing quality service to all participants and offering a safe and well-maintained environment where our customers can gather for a fun and enjoyable experience.

Goals

  • Learning all fundamental and basic sport-specific skills and establishing building blocks for overall improvement.
  • Teaching the value of teamwork and becoming an effective member of a team
  • Teach sportsmanship and fair play by emphasizing proper treatment of teammates, coaches, opponents, and officials.
  • Create opportunities for the customers of all three communities to connect and build relationships and friendships through sports programs.
