Youth Basketball

CVPRD Youth Basketball League offers age-appropriate divisions for athletes from preschool through 8th grade, providing a supportive environment for players to learn, grow, and enjoy the game of basketball.
Each division is designed to promote skill development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Coaches focus on teaching core fundamentals and creating a positive experience for every participant.

2026 Basketball
(November - December Season)
District Registration Open: Monday, August 3, 2026

Mini-Dribblers Basketball (Pre-K, Age 4 – Coed)
A fun and engaging introduction to basketball for our youngest athletes! Players learn basic skills such as dribbling, passing, and shooting through age-appropriate games and activities.
Format: One Saturday session per week for 6 weeks, combining practice and a short game.
Dates: November 7 – December 19, 2026
No Practice/Game: November 23–28 (SVVSD Thanksgiving Break)
Fee: $63 District / $95 Non-District
Kindergarten–2nd Grade Basketball (Coed)
Designed to help young athletes build basketball fundamentals, confidence, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and supportive environment. Players will develop age-appropriate skills while learning game rules, positions, and basic offensive and defensive concepts.
Format: One one-hour practice per week and Saturday games against other Carbon Valley teams.
Practice Begins: Week of October 26, 2026
Game Dates: November 7 – December 19, 2026
No Practice/Game: November 23–28 (SVVSD Thanksgiving Break)

- Kindergarten: $83 District / $125 Non-District
- 1st Grade: $83 District / $125 Non-District

League Information
Format: One practice per week, with games played on Friday evenings or Saturdays. Teams compete against neighboring communities, including Carbon Valley, Mead, Berthoud, and Thompson Rivers Parks & Recreation (TRPR). Some travel may be required.
Practice Begins: Week of October 26, 2026
Game Dates: November 7 – December 19, 2026
No Practices/Games: November 23–28, 2026 (SVVSD Thanksgiving Break)
Fee: $127 District / $191 Non-District
3rd/4th Grade Basketball (Boys & Girls)
Players build on foundational basketball skills while learning more structured team play. Coaches focus on teamwork, communication, sportsmanship, and game understanding in a fun and supportive environment.

We're excited to bring back 7th/8th Grade Girls Basketball for the 2026 season! This league is designed to help middle school athletes build skills, confidence, and game experience before the school basketball season begins. Whether players are new to the game or looking to improve their fundamentals, this program offers a positive, competitive environment to continue developing their basketball abilities.

5th/6th Grade Basketball (Boys & Girls)
Athletes continue to grow their understanding of basketball through guided instruction, skill development, and team-building activities. Coaches emphasize fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive participation while helping players prepare for more competitive levels of play.
7th/8th Grade Basketball (Boys)
This league helps players refine their basketball skills while deepening their understanding of game strategy and team concepts. Coaches encourage leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun and competitive environment, providing athletes with valuable experience as they continue their basketball development.
