SilverSneakers® and Active Adult Fitness Classes

Tivity Health’s SilverSneakers® Fitness program offers physical activity, health education, and social events to help reduce health care costs driven by the physical and mental effects of aging and physician and hospital visits. As a contracted provider, the Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District (CVPRD) offers fitness equipment and signature SilverSneakers® classes which are designed specifically for older adults and taught by certified instructors.

SilverSneakers® Class Descriptions

SilverSneakers® Classic 
A group exercise class with participants holding weights while seated in chairs, engaging in fitness activities together.

Monday | 10:30 - 11:30 am | 11:45 am -12:45 pm
Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living  skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

SilverSneakers® Circuit 
A group of women participates in a seated exercise class with colorful weights in a bright, indoor space.

Wednesday I 10:15- 11:15 am
Friday | 10:30 - 11:30 am

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SILVERSNEAKERS® ball is alternated with non-impact choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching, and relaxation exercises.

SilverSneakers®  Chair Yoga 

Monday | 1:30  - 2:15 pm

A group of seated individuals participates in a chair exercise class, stretching arms upwards, in a brightly lit room.

Thursday | 9:15 - 10 am

Get ready to move through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered so you can perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. This class is suitable for nearly every fitness level

Balance and Beyond

Tuesday I 10:30 - 11:15 am 

Get stronger and improve your balance while lowering the risk of falling. Exercises are designed to improve strength and power around the ankle, hip and knee joints, while improving reaction time.
Limited space, first come first served. 

Zumba Gold

Tuesday | 9 - 10 am 
Thursday I 10:15 - 11:15 am
A modified Zumba class for active older adults that recreates the original moves you love at a lower intensity. Easy to follow Zumba Choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination.

Tai Chi 
A group of people practicing martial arts or movement exercises in a spacious indoor setting.

Tai Chi | Tuesday and Thursday I 1:30 am - 2:30 pm
Tai Chi For Beginners | Wednesday | 11:30 - 12:30 am
 

The gentle moving poses in Tai Chi help build a healthy mind, body and spirit. This low-impact class moves through a variety of full-body exercises and leaves you feeling refreshed. 

If you are new to Tai Chi, try our beginners class which will teach you poses and movements at a slower pace.

Personal Training
