Mark Goldsmith
What do you hope to accomplish during your time on the Board?
I care about making the most of the District’s resources so we can grow, like adding more indoor space or offering more programs for people who don’t have as many options today. Ultimately, I’d love to help shape a strategic long-term plan that’s sustainable and community-driven.
What’s your background or experience you bring to the table?
I bring over a decade of experience in engineering and operations leadership, including managing large-scale product portfolios for major medical device manufacturers. I’ve also managed diverse teams and created strategic roadmaps that support long-term growth. With my MBA and love for parks and rec, I bring a problem-solving mindset and a team-focused approach to the Board.
What do you love most about Carbon Valley Parks & Rec?
I really appreciate the accessibility and variety of what CVPRD offers, from the rec center, aquatics, and programs. CVPRD is a cornerstone in our community, and I love how it brings people together through movement, fun, and wellness.
How do you and your family or friends use Parks & Rec?
My wife, 3 children, and I are frequent users of the rec center, especially the pool and gym. Whether it’s a weekday workout or one of the youth programs, CVPRD plays a big role in my family's everyday life.
What’s one fun fact people might not know about you?
Fun fact: I moved my family to Colorado just so I could hit the ski slopes more… but let’s keep that between us. My wife thinks it was for all the other reasons, like my day job.
In a few words, what does “community” mean to you?
To me, community means feeling connected, supported, and included. It’s about showing up for each other, growing together, and making sure everyone has a place where they feel they belong.
