FAQ

Welcome to the FAQ page for the Carbon Valley Parks and Recreation District's new Aquatics and Recreation Center project. Here, you'll find answers to common questions about our exciting plans!

What is included in the new facility project?

The project includes a new Outdoor Aquatics Center with a regulation lap pool, splash pad, family pool with water slides, and picnic area, as well as an Activities Center with an indoor turf field, multiple indoor courts, locker rooms, community rooms, and a weight and cardio area.

How will the project be funded?

The project will be funded through a proposed tax, which will be put to a community vote in November 2024.

Who will benefit from these new facilities?

All community members, including families, athletes, seniors, and children, will benefit from the enhanced recreational opportunities provided by the new and renovated facilities with low member rates and priority registration.

What is the timeline for the project?

If the proposal is approved, construction is expected to begin shortly after the vote, with completion targeted within a few years. Specific timelines will be communicated as the project progresses.

How will this change the cost of my current membership?

It will not, the goal is to keep resident rates as low as possible. There will be one membership pass for all of the facilities.

Will there be programs for all ages?

Yes, the facilities are designed to cater to all ages, with programs ranging from youth leagues and summer camps to adult sports and senior programs.

How can residents get involved or show support?

Residents can get involved by voting in November 2024, spreading the word about the project, attending community meetings, and participating in volunteer opportunities. Voter turn out will be critical.

What will happen to the current Recreation Center? What renovations will be done to the current Rec center?

The current Recreation Center will undergo renovations and upgrades to ensure it meets modern standards and complements the new facilities. We will be adding to the gym, weight room, cardio area, as well as a small outdoor turf field, and an updated maintenance facility.
