About our Board Member:

What do you hope to accomplish during your time on the Board?

My goal on the Board is to adapt, innovate, and overcome the challenges of a rapidly growing community. I’m passionate about bringing forward-thinking solutions that balance fiscal responsibility with the vision of creating a thriving, sustainable future for Carbon Valley.

What’s your background or experience you bring to the table?

I bring over a decade of experience as an administrative professional, with a strong background in working alongside recreation and special districts. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sports and Recreation Management, with a minor in Accounting. Additionally, I have previously served on the Board for a two-year term with the Frederick seat, where I gained valuable insights into effective governance and community-focused decision-making.

What do you love most about Carbon Valley Parks & Rec?

What I love most about the Parks and Recreation District is how deeply it has been woven into the fabric of my own upbringing. The opportunities for recreation and connection have shaped my life, and it’s this passion that drives my continued engagement and commitment to fostering a vibrant community.

How do you and your family or friends use Parks & Rec?

My son and his friends regularly enjoy the recreation center, particularly the pool, which offers them a safe and welcoming environment to stay active and connect. It’s a place that fosters both physical well-being and community engagement, and I appreciate how the district provides such valuable spaces for our families.

What’s one fun fact people might not know about you?

A fun fact about me is that I’ve cultivated a small garden of herbs, though I’m not always willing to reveal what’s growing there. Let’s just say, both plants and projects thrive with the right amount of attention and patience, and some things are best left to nature’s secrets.

In a few words, what does “community” mean to you?

To me, community is about connection. Creating spaces where individuals can engage, grow, and support one another. It’s a shared commitment to building a thriving, inclusive environment where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to contribute.
